METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says the club has agreed to a four-year contract with linebacker Khairi Fortt, who was New Orleans’ fourth-round choice in the recent NFL draft.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Fortt, who on Monday became the last of the Saints’ six draft choices to agree to a deal, is expected to play weakside inside linebacker in the Saints’ 3-4 defensive scheme.

The 22-year-old Fortt played outside linebacker in California’s 4-3 scheme last season, starting nine games before the fourth-year junior’s season was ended by a biceps injury.

Fortt was credited with 64 tackles, including 3½ tackles for losses. He also was one of 12 national semifinalists for the 2013 Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top college linebacker.
