MOORE, Okla. (AP) - The Plaza Towers Elementary principal is leaving at the end of this school year.
KOCO reports (https://bit.ly/1sLuLnR ) that Amy Simpson, the principal of Plaza Towers when an EF-5 tornado struck Moore on May 20, 2013, will move to a different school in Moore at the end of the school year.
Simpson remained principal this year at Central Junior High, Plaza Towers’ temporary home. She said the images of the tornado and the children still stick with her a year later.
Simpson is going to be starting a new school in Moore. She said she looks forward to welcoming students as they go through the best times of their lives.
Simpson was principal at Plaza Towers for six years. She’s been with the Moore Public School District for 20 years.
