ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - School board elections and budget votes are coming up this week across upstate New York.
By state law, elections are held the third Tuesday of May in all districts except Albany and the big five - Buffalo, New York City, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers. That’s May 20 this year.
Prominent issues among school board candidates this year are Common Core standards, teacher evaluations and charter schools.
