CAIRO, Ill. (AP) - Funeral services are set for two women killed during a botched robbery of a southern Illinois bank where they worked.

Authorities say First National Bank branch president Anita Jo Grace of Olive Branch and teller Nita Jo Smith of Wickliffe, Kentucky, were stabbed Thursday at the bank in Cairo (KEHR’-oh). A third bank worker also was stabbed but has been released from the hospital.

Federal authorities say 29-year-old James Watts of Cairo forced the women back into the bank after they’d closed for the day. He was arrested hours later and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Graveside services for Grace will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery. Smith’s services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wickliffe’s First Baptist Church.
