SHIPROCK, N.M. (AP) - Authorities are trying to identify a young woman whose body was found in a ditch in northwestern New Mexico.

The FBI says it and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are investigating the death of the woman whose body was found Sunday night in a concrete irrigation ditch in Shiprock.

The woman is described as a Native American in her late teens or early 20s, with long black hair and a tattoo of a star on her neck. She was wearing a black T-shirt.

According to the FBI, no identification was found on the body, which could have been in the ditch for up to 24 hours.
