NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The United Way of Nashville is asking for volunteers and donations during its fifth annual Community Baby Shower.
The event is being held from now until May 21 and helps at-risk babies and moms. The United Way is hoping to collect critical baby items like diapers, diaper cream, wipes, baby lotion, blankets and onesies.
The organization is asking friends, family members and co-workers to host their own baby shower to collect the items and to use Facebook to get the word out about the need. Participants can go to www.unitedwaynashville.org/babyshower to access the registry of items.
Collected items can be dropped off at the United Way of Nashville office at 250 Venture Circle, through May 21. The United Way’s goal is to distribute 1,000 baby bags to new mothers.
