ROGERS, Ark. (AP) - A spokesman for U.S. Sen. John Boozman says the Arkansas lawmaker is eager to return to work following heart surgery, but that it may take several more weeks before he is fully recovered.
The 63-year-old Republican underwent emergency heart surgery April 22 after being rushed to the emergency room. He underwent surgery to repair a tear in his aorta after being diagnosed with an acute aortic dissection.
Boozman spokesman Patrick Creamer said Monday that the senator has been recuperating at home, and that it may be a few more weeks before he is finished with cardio-rehab and cleared by doctors.
Creamer said Boozman has been doing some work from home and wants to be fully cleared soon to return to his duties and be able to travel.
