Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, said Sunday he doesn’t think Hillary Clinton will run for president if she has another month like this one where her record on Benghazi, a possible lingering head injury and her husband’s affair with Monica Lewinsky have all been publicly discussed.
“What I think is going to make her rethink whether she should actually run for president — by the way, I don’t actually think she will — but if she has another month like she’s just had,” he said on “Meet the Press.”
Her failures as secretary of state, however, will play a larger role and work against in the campaign if she decides to run. Mr. Priebus talked specifically about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, her reluctance to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, and failing to act in Syria and Russia.
“When Senator Johnson tried to her questions about Benghazi, and her response is, what difference does it make, I can assure you that that will be an issue if she does decide to run,” he said.
