MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Health Department says anyone interested in participating in a community forum on opiate addiction should contact their local health department office.

Gov. Peter Shumlin, the Health Department and the United Way of Vermont are going to be holding the forum at the Statehouse in Montpelier on June 16.

The forum is designed to bring together leaders from different sectors of the community to brainstorm possible solutions to the challenge of opiate addiction.

People attending are invited to form “community teams,” organized around health department district offices.

People who wish to participate should contact their local health department office by May 23.
