CHICAGO (AP) - Nearly 6,000 runners are signed up for Sunday’s Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K race benefiting the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute.

The sold-out race is in support of brain cancer research.

Among the runners is Meg Keating. The resident of Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007.

Northwestern doctors and nurses are also running.

According to Northwestern, more than 20,000 people are diagnosed with brain tumors each year.
