PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - U.S. Sen. Angus King is encouraging University of Maine School of Law graduates to take more risks and not be afraid to fail.

King delivered the commencement address on Saturday in Portland where 96 students got their law degrees.

Another six students received advanced law degrees during the ceremony at Merrill Auditorium.

This year’s outstanding graduates were Kevin Decker and Sara Murphy. Decker will clerk for Judge William J. Kayatta, Jr. of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; Murphy will clerk for Maine Chief Justice Leigh Saufley.

King himself is a lawyer by training. He originally moved to Maine to work as a staff attorney for Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Skowhegan.
