PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority has adjusted service on several routes that serve local colleges and universities because of the summer break.

RIPTA says it has adjusted service on Route 52, which serves Bryant University in Smithfield; Route 55, which serves Providence College; and Route 60, which serves Newport.

The changes affect some inbound and outbound service on Thursdays and Fridays, including late-night buses.

The changes are now in effect.

RIPTA plans to reinstate the late-night service in September once classes resume.
