LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Gov. Susana Martinez will deliver remarks at a Las Cruces high school’s graduation ceremony.

Martinez is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. at the Las Cruces Convention Center before seniors from Arrowhead Park Early College High School.

The governor singled out the school for giving students an opportunity to also earn college credit through their course work.

She says many of the students graduating already have associate’s degrees or work-ready certificates.

Arrowhead is one of 11 schools in New Mexico that partner with nearby businesses so students can gain practical experience while completing their regular studies.

Martinez’s administration announced grants for the establishment of high schools emphasizing early preparation for college in seven districts.
