LIVINGSTON, N.Y. (AP) - Environmentalists say they have helped conserve more than 250 acres of farmland in the Hudson Valley with easements.

Scenic Hudson says it worked with Columbia Land Conservancy and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to help three farm families conserve their land in the Columbia County Town of Livingston. The $1 million cost was picked up in part by a federal program and by Scenic Hudson. The conservancy will enforce the easements.

The conservation easements will help preserve more than 100 acres at Vosburgh Orchards, almost 30 acres at Taconic Orchard and more than 150 acres on Andy Lane farm.
