INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Concerns over the stability of the USA Cricket Association are clouding plans for Indianapolis to host the organization’s national championship in August.

The Dubai-based International Cricket Council is set to vote in June on whether the cricket association should be suspended as an affiliate. The Florida-based association faces questions over high debt, the abrupt departure of its leader and a challenge from a rival group.

Indianapolis officials tell the Indianapolis Business Journal (https://bit.ly/1v4Re36 ) they are talking with both groups and are confident the August event will go on. But others say the association has lost a lot of members to the rival group and would lose $400,000 if it is suspended.

More than half of U.S. cricket leagues have spurned USACA and joined the American Cricket Federation.
