RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Organizers of an outdoor festival in Richmond have made some changes in the wake of a thrown bottle that injured a reggae band leader during the 2013 event.

The Dominion Riverrock festival begins Friday and runs through Sunday. It’s organized by Richmond Sports Backers and Venture Richmond.

Richmond Sports Backers executive director Jon Lugbill tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1jP8YLN ) that festivalgoers’ bags will be searched as they enter the event. He declined to discuss other security measures.

Venture Richmond deputy director Lisa Sims tells the newspaper that adult beverages will be limited to beer and wine.

In 2013, Toots and the Maytals leader Frederick “Toots” Hibbert was hit in the head by a vodka bottle thrown by William Connor Lewis. Lewis received a six-month jail sentence for the incident.
