Suspect in 2007 murders extradited from Haiti

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - A fugitive suspect in a 2007 triple-murder in southwest Florida has been extradited from Haiti.

Wesnel Isaac was arrested Saturday by Haitian national police in Carrefour, Haiti, said Deputy U.S. Marshal John Kinsey. U.S. authorities flew to the Caribbean county Thursday and returned to Florida with Isaac.

Isaac was ordered held without bond Friday on multiple charges, including second-degree murder, kidnapping and failure to appear. Lee County jail records did not show whether he had an attorney.

Kinsey said a tip led investigators to Isaac in Haiti.

Authorities say Isaac was one of four men who killed Robert Barckley, Scott Highfill and Willard Graham in September 2007 after a robbery at Graham’s Bonita Springs drug house. The bodies were found in a car the next day in Lehigh Acres.

One of Isaac’s codefendants, Loubert Jules, received three life sentences after being convicted of second-degree murder and false imprisonment. Two others received eight years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of accessory after the fact to testify against Jules.

There had been a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Isaac, whom authorities described as an enforcer in the Haitian Zoe Pound gang. Kinsey said the reward will be given to the person who provided the tip that Isaac was in Haiti.
