PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Monsanto has given $100,000 toward a new exhibit hall on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.

The Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth, and Community will be nearly 47,000 square feet with classrooms, concessions, a stage and a large kitchen for 4-H competitions. It includes a 35,000-square-foot exhibit space.

The state fair director says Monsanto has been a good partner through this donation and other sponsorships.

The Monsanto Company is global developer of agricultural products including genetically engineered seed brands.

A spokesman for Monsanto says the company is honored to support 4-H and the future of South Dakota agriculture.

The State Fair Foundation has raised over half of the $4 million needed for the exhibit hall.
