FRANKLIN, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and a White House official are hosting a roundtable discussion on challenges facing local communities dealing with heroin and opioid addiction.

The meeting is taking place at 2 p.m. Friday in Franklin.

Joining Shaheen is Michael Botticelli, acting director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. They are meeting with members of the Franklin Mayor’s Drug Task Force to discuss how law enforcement, health officials and community leaders can partner with the federal government to prevent and treat substance use disorders in New Hampshire.
