WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A nonprofit group that supports low-income families who can’t afford to bury their children has planned a spring cleanup day for the children’s section of an Iowa cemetery.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1n1Y83z ) Sing Me To Heaven will sponsor the event Saturday at the Black Hawk County Cemetery in Waterloo. The foundation has partnered with Black Hawk County to organize the cleanup.

Volunteers plan to remove weeds, trash and excess foliage from the section. Flowers will be donated to honor the lives of more than 60 children buried at the cemetery.

The organization raises funds to offset funeral costs for financially strained families that have lost a child.
