RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Labor is holding a meeting Friday as it searches for an operator at the Wind River Job Corps Center, which is set to open near Riverton Regional Airport in 2015.

According to the Riverton Ranger (https://tinyurl.com/qy9nbaz ), the center will be part of a national training and employment program administered by the federal government in an effort to reduce employment barriers faced by disadvantaged young people ages 16 to 24.

The center will be able to serve about 300 people once it opens, including 260 residential students and 40 off campus.

The center will provide energy courses, along with health and nursing courses, accounting and heavy truck driving.

Operators of the facility will be expected to handle administration, training, security and other services.
