ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Green Line light rail train was hit by a motorist during a training run.
The Star Tribune reports (https://strib.mn/RZayQg ) the incident happened during Friday morning’s rush hour. The driver of the vehicle was apparently trying to turn left from University Avenue onto Eustis Street, but collided with an eastbound train.
Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland says the train had minor damage. The operator was not seriously injured.
This is the third crash involving a Green Line train since training runs began this year. The line running between Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul will open June 14.
