PARIS (AP) - Didier Deschamps is suing the partner of Samir Nasri over foul-mouthed tweets that were posted after the France coach left the Manchester City star off his World Cup squad.
Deschamps’ lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, says he filed the complaint for “public insults” on Friday with a Paris court.
He said Nasri’s partner, Anara Atanes, risks a fine if convicted.
The lawyer said the French Football Federation is not suing Atanes. In a statement, the FFF said it fully supports Deschamps’ action.
On what appears to be her Twitter account, Atanes used expletives against both France and Deschamps after he announced that he isn’t taking Nasri to Brazil.
She later tweeted: “I apologize if i offended anyone from france, My tweets were not aimed at the nation as a whole.”
