CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago gang member has been convicted of a fatal shooting that killed three teenagers in 2009.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1j1EjKc ) a Cook County jury convicted Martin Ybarra (ee-BAHR’-ah) on Thursday.
The now 25-year-old was charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of 13-year-old Johnny Edwards, 17-year-old Kendrick Pitts and 15-year-old Raheem Washington.
Prosecutors say the Latin Kings gang member was aiming for a member of a rival gang, but hit the teenagers instead.
Six months before the slayings, Ybarra was acquitted of a 2005 fatal shooting that killed a 19-year-old man at the same intersection.
