CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A 51-year-old man faces up to 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced for robbing a bank in eastern Iowa.

Prosecutors say Robert Melton, of Cedar Rapids, on Thursday pleaded guilty in a Cedar Rapids federal court to one count of bank robbery.

Prosecutors say Melton admitted robbing the Solon State Bank in Ely on Jan. 17. A witness had followed Melton as he drove from the bank and reported Melton’s location. Melton soon was stopped and arrested.

Ely sits eight miles southeast of Cedar Rapids.
