SEATTLE (AP) - The Boeing factory at Frederickson near Tacoma that builds tails for 777s and 787s also will build the carbon-fiber tail for the new 777X.
Site manager Dave Moe confirmed the work Thursday.
The director of the governor’s aerospace office, Alex Pietsch, told The Seattle Times (https://bit.ly/1jmi17s) it was excellent news.
About 750 employees work at the Composite Manufacture Center.
Boeing is erecting a new building in Everett where a new composite wing for the 777X will be made. Boeing committed to assembling the 777X in Everett in January after winning concessions from the Machinists union.
