ENID, Okla. (AP) - Police in Enid say the body of a man found following a fire more than a week ago on the city’s south side has been identified.

Capt. Jack Morris says the state medical examiner’s office notified police Friday that the remains found May 7 are those of 59-year-old Christopher Coffee. Morris says Coffee died of smoke inhalation and burns - but that the manner of death is pending and will be determined after the cause of the fire is determined.

Authorities have said the body was found in a detached building where the fire is believed to have begun before spreading to a nearby home.
