Political talk show host Bill Maher said in a sit-down interview with Larry King on Ora.tv’s PoliticKING that he’s already picked his No. 1 president-vice president team for 2016 — former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

It’d be the “granny ticket,” Mr. Maher quipped, Politico reported. But jokes aside, he said the duo could really pack a presidential punch.

Ms. Warren is one of the “most gutsy” people in politics, said Mr. Maher, host of the HBO show “Real Time With Bill Maher.” She could take the lead on climate change issues — someMr. Mthing the comedian said the nation really needs.

“I think someone like Elizabeth Warren, one of the most gusty people I’ve seen in politics in a long time, [would help with climate change]. She’s somebody, I think who would really say what she feels. She may not ever win anything. I’d love to see her run with Hillary, how about that? A granny ticket.”

Still, Mr. Maher has his problems with Mrs. Clinton.

Earlier in the discussion, he called her — along with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — a moderate with mediocre powers of persuasion.

“We’re talking about two centrist, corporate-type people who are not really going to move this country off the track it’s on,” he said, Politico reported. “I can’t see either one of them doing anything bold, like demanding a carbon tax.”

He then described climate change as “the most important issue of our time” and said enacting policies that commit this country to strict climate change regulations “requires great leadership,” he said, Politico reported.
