LAS VEGAS (AP) - Classes were canceled, but administrators cleared rooms for students to take advanced placement tests Thursday, a day after a two-alarm fire damaged solar panels and the roof of a Las Vegas private school.

Students and staff members safely evacuated and no injuries were reported in the fire about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Middle School, not far from the Red Rock Casino Resort in western Las Vegas.

Clark County fire officials reported damage to solar panels and the roof, and water damage to three classrooms below. Air conditioning was knocked out in the main school building.

KSNV-TV reported that damage was estimated at $60,000, and fire investigators and solar panel technicians were working to determine the cause of the fire.

Faith Lutheran is a private, Christian school.
