WEST UNION, W.Va. (AP) - Some residents in Doddridge County are concerned about a proposed natural gas compressor station’s impact on their health and property.

The Canton North Compressor Station is one of two that Antero Resources Appalachian Corporation plans to build in Doddridge and Tyler counties.

WBOY-TV (https://bit.ly/1qFbNn4 ) reports that residents questioned the effects of the compressor’s emissions during a public meeting Wednesday in West Union.

The state Department of Environmental Protection held the meeting to share information about the project and gather public input. The DEP is considering Antero’s applications for air quality permits for both compressors.

Susan Cleaver told DEP representatives that she’s concerned about air pollution. She said one would want to move into the area.

The DEP has extended the public comment period until 4 p.m. on May 21.
