EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a tanker truck hauling milk toppled onto a passenger car on a southwestern Illinois highway, killing that vehicle’s driver.

Illinois State Police did not immediately identify the name of the vehicle occupant killed at the scene of the wreck about 10 a.m. Thursday in Madison County north of Edwardsville.

Police say the tanker truck overturned onto the car after hitting a dump truck’s tailgate on the two-lane highway. The tanker then hit two other vehicles, falling on one and pinning it in the drainage ditch.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone in the other vehicle was injured.
