LAS VEGAS (AP) - A former Las Vegas physician who was accused in 2010 of sexually assaulting female patients has been sentenced to five years’ probation for his conviction on a lesser charge.

Karl Fazekas was sentenced Wednesday in Clark County District Court after pleading an equivalent of no contest last October to a misdemeanor coercion charge.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1lucRC0 ) that Fazekas also was fined $5,000.

Prosecutors dropped felony and misdemeanor charges, including sexual assault, attempted sexual assault and open and gross lewdness.

Fazekas’ medical license was suspended in 2010 after the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners cited “inappropriate touching and conduct” toward female patients.

His medical license expired in 2011.
