FEDERAL JUDGE IN PHILADELPHIA ASKED TO FORCE PENNSYLVANIA TO RECOGNIZE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE FROM ANOTHER STATE
Pennsylvania remains the only Northeast state that bans civil unions and continues to define marriage as between a man and a woman. But advocates are trying to change that through various tests cases, including one involving two women who were married in Massachusetts in 2005 but now live and work in the Philadelphia area.

ARMY VET CLEARD IN FATAL SHOOTING FOLLOWING ROAD RAGE CONFRONTATION
Washington County prosecutors contended 32-year-old Brandon Thomas got out of his vehicle and purposely shot 55-year-old Vaughn Simonelli. But the jury sided with the defense, which argued Thomas suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and fired in self-defense only after he was blocked into his parking space by Simonelli’s vehicle.
FEDS: DRUNKEN GROPER FORCES LONDON-BOUND FLIGHT TO RETURN TO PHILADELPHIA
That passenger, 40-year-old Robert John Coppack, of La Verne, California, will remain in custody until a federal court appearance Monday. The FBI says two women sitting with Coppack complained during the overnight US Airways flight Tuesday before Coppack also groped a flight attendant. An in-flight air marshal arrested him.

Pennsylvania is trying to update 20-year-old laws to oversee the drilling boom in the Marcellus Shale. Under the existing law, drilling companies must disclose the chemicals involved in fracking but can make exceptions for what they deem trade secrets.
