RANSON, W.Va. (AP) - Police say a woman has died after she was hit by a Norfolk Southern train in Ranson.

Ranson Police Chief Bill Roper identified the victim as Lisa Webb, who was in her 50s.

Roper tells The-Herald Mail (https://bit.ly/1jthlHq ) of Hagerstown, Maryland, that Webb was hit Tuesday morning.

Norfolk Southern spokesman Robin Chapman tells the newspaper that the train was carrying intermodal containers.
