LAS VEGAS (AP) - A prosecutor says a 33-year-old Las Vegas behavioral health company owner was spared jail time but ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution and penalties for failing to maintain adequate records to support Medicaid claims.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said in a Tuesday statement that she hopes the prosecution of All About You Behavioral Health Inc. owner Romeeka Naytesa Richardson deters future fraud.

Richardson pleaded guilty April 22 and was sentenced by Clark County District Court Judge Michelle Leavitt to perform 80 hours of community service in addition to restitution. The judge suspended a 150 days in jail sentence.

Masto says Medicaid fraud investigators in her office found that Richardson submitted claims from January through May 2012 for reimbursement for services that weren’t actually provided.
