LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - An Altavista man will spend five months in prison for selling counterfeit sports apparel and movie DVDS.

George E. Hall will serve five months on home confinement after he completes his sentence. The 46-year-old Hall also must pay about $64,000 in restitution.

U.S. Attorney Timothy J. Heaphy says Hall was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Lynchburg. Hall had previously pleaded guilty to trafficking in goods bearing counterfeit marks and copyright infringement.

Hall admitted to importing counterfeit sports jerseys, necklaces, bracelets, hats and sunglasses from China and Hong Kong. He then sold the apparel to other vendors. These vendors sold the apparel at trade shows and a local store.

Hall also admitted to selling DVDS containing pirated movies.
