OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning has conceded the Republican primary race for governor to Omaha businessman Pete Ricketts.

In a concession speech Tuesday night, Bruning thanked supporters and told them, “I’m going to support Pete Ricketts tomorrow. I’m not going to take my ball and go home.”

Bruning conceded the race despite trailing Ricketts by less than 1,500 votes.

The winner of the Republican primary will emerge as a heavy favorite in the November general election.
