KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) - A 28-year-old Ketchikan man has been arraigned on several charges following a weekend standoff.

The Ketchikan Daily News reports (https://is.gd/dStYan) Jonathan Hamilton was arraigned Monday on domestic assault and reckless driving charges. Troopers had initially arrested him on arson, assault and reckless driving charges.

A receptionist at the district attorney’s office on Wednesday told The Associated Press that District Attorney Stephen West would have to answer questions why charges were changed from what troopers recommended, and he would return to the office at the end of the month.

Troopers say they took numerous 911 calls Sunday afternoon about a disturbance. Investigators responded to the home, where Hamilton was arrested. Troopers say Hamilton drove toward a family member.

His next court appearance is May 22.
