DENVER (AP) - Gov. John Hickenlooper is traveling through southern Colorado to sign several bills, including one to provide social workers to juvenile offenders and another to allocate funding for the state fair.

The governor will be in Colorado Springs Wednesday morning to sign legislation that requires the public defender’s office to hire social workers to assist in juvenile cases. Hickenlooper is also signing a bill that creates the Wildfire Information and Resource Center, which will provide details on prescribed burns and fire mitigation funding among other things.

In Pueblo, Hickenlooper will sign a bill that adds $300,000 for renovations and improvements at the Colorado State Fairgrounds. He will also sign legislation to put a new Colorado Bureau of Investigation forensics lab in Pueblo.
