ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The director of the National Institutes of Health plans to speak at the University of Michigan on the future of biomedical research.
Dr. Francis Collins is scheduled to give the introductory talk Wednesday afternoon at a panel discussion. His public talk at the university’s Life Sciences Institute is titled “The Past is Prologue: You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.”
Collins is in Ann Arbor for a biomedical symposium.
Collins worked at the school from 1984 to 1993. The university says he was among the researchers who discovered genes responsible for several inherited diseases, such as cystic fibrosis.
