LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Republican National Committee is expected to narrow down the list of contenders bidding to host the GOP national convention in 2016.
RNC officials say members of a selection committee are reviewing reports from site visits, including one in Las Vegas in April. The team checked out the Las Vegas Convention Center during that trip.
The group is expected to meet via conference call on May 22, and may announce a short list that day.
A full RNC delegation is expected to visit finalist sites in early June.
Las Vegas is one of six cities still in the running to host the convention. The others are Denver, Dallas, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Kansas City.
