IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Iowa’s executive branch is correcting mistakes on the state’s so-called “do-not-rehire” list.

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services announced Tuesday an internal review found that dozens of former workers were erroneously included on the list of 975 people released last month. On Wednesday, the department released an updated spreadsheet to reflect the changes that affect 90 individuals.

The department says the errors include 35 people who are still challenging their firings and 25 people whose departures didn’t meet the criteria for disqualification from future employment. Twenty-one others voluntarily agreed not to reapply for jobs and shouldn’t have been included and eight others were probationary employees who remain disqualified but whose names should not have been released. One deceased individual and one duplicate entry were also removed.
