HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Democrats will be meeting across Connecticut to endorse their congressional candidates for this year’s election.
All five incumbent Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives were expected to be nominated at conventions planned Wednesday evening.
Rep. John Larson is expected to be nominated in East Hartford; Rep. Joe Courtney in Enfield; Rosa DeLauro in North Haven; Rep. Jim Himes in Bridgeport; and Rep. Elizabeth Esty in Waterbury.
Democrats will hold their statewide convention Friday in Hartford. That’s when they’re expected to endorse Gov. Dannel P. Malloy for a second term as governor, as well as incumbent Democrats for Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, Comptroller and Secretary of the State.
Republicans are holding a two-day nominating convention on Friday and Saturday to back candidates for both statewide and federal office.
