WEST UNION, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say four construction workers have been injured following a structure collapse in the northeast Iowa city of West Union.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred Wednesday morning at a construction site near the county courthouse.
Sheriff Marty Fisher says the workers’ injuries appear to be serious, but he said all four men were coherent after the incident. They are being treated at a local hospital but he did not provide more information. Their names have not been released.
Fisher says workers were setting up trusses for the structure’s roof when the collapse occurred. The men fell some sort of distance to the ground, but additional information was not released.
The case remains under investigation.
