SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego County authorities say 14 people have been arrested and pounds of narcotics were seized in a suspected drug-trafficking operation.

U-T San Diego reported Tuesday (https://bit.ly/1lyqnrh ) that the arrests were made during a sweep by 50 sheriff’s deputies and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s violent trafficking team.

Nearly 16 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of cocaine and seven pounds of heroin were seized, along with Xanax tablets and LSD.

Authorities confiscated almost $40,000 in cash during the course of the investigation.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Caldwell says teams served warrants last week in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, Vista, San Marcos and Escondido.
