Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s re-election campaign is set to launch its second TV ad buy in New Hampshire this week as it tries to stave off Republican challenger Scott Brown, the former Massachusetts senator who found a new state and renewed political ambitions this year.

The Concord Monitor said the new ad, which will air statewide, features a Nashua businesswoman who touts Ms. Shaheen’s small-business bona fides.

Adira Bagshaw of WH Bagshaw, which makes pines and wire products, says Ms. Shaheen helped her business export products, get access to credit and hire skilled workers, the newspaper reported.

Political analysts told the Monitor there will be a “good cop, bad cop” routine between Ms. Shaheen and Mr. Brown that fluctuates between positive and negative advertising ahead of November’s election.

Ms. Shaheen is among several Democratic incumbents who Republicans hope to unseat this year in a bid to retake the Senate.

Mr. Brown has run an ad to promote his candidacy, while outside groups like Crossroads GPS and Americans for Prosperity have dumped millions into ads against Ms. Shaheen, the Monitor reports.
