CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Employment Security office says the state’s unemployment rate for April was 4.4 percent, down from 4.5 percent in March.
In April 2013, the seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 5.3 percent.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April was 6.3 percent, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points from the March rate, and a decrease of 1.2 percentage points from the April 2013 rate.
In New Hampshire, seasonally adjusted estimates for April placed the number of employed residents at 714,640, an increase of 2,200 from the previous month and an increase of 10,770 from April 2013.
The number of unemployed residents decreased by 1,160 to 32,740. This was 6,290 fewer unemployed than in April 2013.
