ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 21-year-old man is accused of setting one car on fire during a tire-slashing rampage in Skagway, with many targeted vehicles belonging to law enforcement.

The Anchorage Daily News reports (https://is.gd/Q8UfMW) Casey Collom faces nine counts of criminal mischief.

A man living next to Police Chief Ray Leggett called dispatchers May 7, saying someone was slashing tires on vehicles at Leggett’s home.

Authorities say about 40 minutes later, a dispatcher at the Skagway police department looked outside and saw her vehicle on fire.

Police allege Collom cut the tires on three vehicles at Leggett’s home, slashed all four tires on the dispatcher’s vehicle before setting it on fire and slashed the tires on two more police vehicles and three personal other vehicles.

His attorney didn’t immediately return a message Tuesday.
