COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A July trial is scheduled for a western Iowa man accused of shooting to death a 64-year-old woman.

The Daily Nonpareil says (https://bit.ly/1mRt7Uo ) the attorney for Robert Reynolds Jr. on Monday entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of first-degree murder. Reynolds is accused of fatally shooting Patricia Kinkade-Dorsey, of rural Cass County, on April 9.

Officers sent to Reynolds’ home in Oakland say they found that Kinkade-Dorsey’s had been killed. Three other people in the home were not injured. A criminal complaint says Reynolds acknowledged shooting Kinkade-Dorsey after an argument.

Reynolds’ trial is set to begin July 1 in Pottawattamie County District Court in Council Bluffs.
