Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart made it clear that he’s not happy with Rush Limbaugh’s criticisms of the social media campaign the White House has waged for the abducted Nigerian school girls. And to drive his point of unhappiness further, he’s launched his own hashtag handle to slam the conservative icon: “#F” then the phrase “YouRush.”
Mr. Stewart also called Mr. Limbaugh a “quivering rage heap who is apparently desperately trying to extinguish any remaining molecule of humanity that might still reside in the Chernobyl-esque super-fund cleanup site that was his soul,” Politico reported.
The comedian’s rant comes in response to Mr. Limbaugh’s characterization of first lady Michelle Obama’s tweet — a picture of herself holding a placard that read #BringBackOurGirls — as “pathetic.”
But Mr. Limbaugh’s sentiment was shared by many in the conservative world who say it’s high time for the White House to adopt a foreign policy that’s stronger than the hashtag.
Yet Mr. Stewart honed in on Mr. Limbaugh, saying on his recent show that listeners should go to social media and cast a vote: The conservative radio host or 16-year-old Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, who was attacked by terrorists for the crime of wanting to go to school.
And, Mr. Stewart said, social media users should cast their votes using the expletive-laced hashtag he designed especially for Mr. Limbaugh, Politico reported.
